Genericon is held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, specifically in the Darrin Communications Center (DCC), Center for Industrial Innovation (CII), the RPI Playhouse, and the Armory. The DCC and CII are two adjoined academic buildings on campus.
From North (Plattsburgh)
Take I-87 South (Adirondack Northway), then take exit 7 off of I-87 N and follow 7 East until you cross the Hudson and enter Troy. Continue onto Hoosick Street and drive straight until you hit 15th Street (there’s a Hess gas station on the corner). Take a right onto 15th Street and follow it down five blocks to reach the RPI campus. Follow directions under “ONCE ON CAMPUS.”
From South (New York City)
Take I-87 North (New York Thruway), then take exit 23 onto I-787 N. From 787, take exit 8, following signs for Troy and RPI. After passing over Green Island and crossing the bridge over the Hudson River, head straight up the hill on Sage Avenue, then take a right on 15th Street. Follow directions under “ONCE ON CAMPUS.”
From East (Boston)
Take I-90 West, then take exit B1 toward Albany. Then take exit 6A for I-787 N. From 787, take exit 8, following signs for Troy and RPI. After passing over Green Island and crossing the bridge over the Hudson River, head straight up the hill on Sage Avenue, then take a right on 15th Street. Follow directions under “ONCE ON CAMPUS.”
From West (Rochester)
Take I-90 East, then take exit 24 and follow signs to I-87 N. Take exit 7 off of I-87 N and follow 7 East until you cross the Hudson and enter Troy. Once on Campus
On 15th Street you will see a footbridge crossing over the street. There is a building that looks like a giant medieval castle, on the side going up the hill. Inside that building you will find the Genericon registration center.
